Review of the Epson WorkForce 635 All-in-One Printer
All printers offer different functions and capabilities. Sometimes you need two or three printing devices in your home or office to do all the things you want to do. The Epson WorkForce 635 All-in-One Printer attempts to bundle all the functions you could ever need into one package.
Getting Set Up
The printer comes with a lot of hardware. I found the following things in the box: the Epson WorkForce 635 All-in-One printer, 127 Extra-high capacity black, cyan, yellow, and magenta cartridges, an instruction manual, a CD containing printer drivers and bundled software, a sample paper pack, a telephone cord, and a power cable.
The printer looked nice and compact. The control panel looked well designed with the keys surrounding a 2.5 inch LCD screen. The control panel of the printer can be adjusted to get the optimal view of it from your desk.

I took the ink cartridges out from the box and installed them easily and smoothly in their respective slots. I plugged in the printer and turned on my laptop. Since the printer is Wi-Fi enabled, there was no USB cable provided with it. I powered on the printer. It printer made some noise while warming up and took about 15 seconds before it prompted me to set the date and time on its LCD display. I set them, and then entered all the necessary data through the keypad on the printer's control panel to establish Wi-Fi connection with my laptop. My laptop OS is Windows Vista, and it immediately detected the printer. I inserted the CD into my DVD R/W drive and chose the default installation option. My laptop recognized the printer and completed installing the device driver and bundled software. This whole process took about 5 minutes. |
