Kube2's Unique Design
BlueTree Electronics claims that the Kube2 is the smallest touch mp3 player available. Setting aside the the touch feature criteria, here is how it compares to other leading mp3 players:
iPod Nano: 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches (8.9 x 4.1 x 0.7 cm)
iPod Shuffle: 1.1 x 1.24 x 0.34 inches (2.9 x 3.2 x .87 cm)
Kube2: 0.87 x 0.87 x 0.87 inches (2.2 x 2.2 x 2.2 cm)
So clearly, the Kube2 is smaller in length and width than similar mp3 players, such as the iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano, but it has more depth than its competitors because of its cube shape.
So now we need to calculate the volume.
iPod Nano: 25.54 cubic cm (cc, cm3)
iPod Shuffle: 8.1 cc
Kube2: 10.65 cc
Therefore, sure, it's the smallest touch mp3 player. And, the Kube2 takes second place behind the Shuffle as the smallest leading mp3 player, but not by much!
Whether it is the smallest or not, it stands apart from other touch mp3 players in a few ways. The most obvious feature that sets the Kube2 apart from the rest is its cube shape. The tiny Kube2 fits comfortably into your hand. All the edges are rounded, and tiny ridges around its top and bottom surface make it look more attractive and accentuate the unique cubic shape. It has two LED indicators, one on the top and the other on the bottom. The top LED indicates microSD card access. The LED on the bottom lights up when you navigate through your list of songs. The top surface has a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone and charging combo port. The headphone itself comes with a flat, durable cable.
