Review of the SensoGlove golf training aid glove
The SensoGlove is a high-tech training glove for golfers of all skill levels. It is world’s first golf glove that features a digital grip pressure sensor that provides visual and audio feedback when the golfer’s grip pressure on the club is not right. Most beginning golfers tend to have a tight grip (in golf terminology, a ‘death grip’) on the golf club when addressing the ball, which often results in poor shot. The SensoGlove helps golfers practice good gripping habits, thereby helping them improve their approach shots and reduce the number of bad shots.
Design and features
The SensoGlove is white with black stripes on top and yellow between the fingers. It has two basic parts: the glove and the removable “computer” (which is what the manufacturer calls the pressure sensor unit). The glove is made of high quality cabretta leather. Each finger of the glove incorporates strategically placed sensors that monitor grip pressure in real time. These sensors are not only able to measure the aggregate grip pressure on the club, but they can also indicate which particular finger(s) the pressure is coming from. The design and positioning of the sensors will not affect your feel for the club.
The SensoGlove looks like any other golf glove except for the removable “computer.” The computer senses and shows real-time data based on gripping pressure and beeps when the pressure is not right. The computer sports a 1.2-inch sweat-proof monochrome LED display that has an adjustable pressure setting and indicates which fingers are giving too much pressure. The computer provides its audiovisual feedback in real-time – to be more accurate, 80 times per second. The adjustable pressure setting allows you to select the grip that is right for you by pressing a + or – sign on the computer.
You can set the grip pressure from 1 to 18, where 1 is for the tightest grip and 18 is for the lightest grip. The computer will automatically store your settings in its memory. The SensoGlove’s ‘Automatic Sensitivity Selection’ feature can recommend an optimal pressure setting based on the user’s grip pressure history.
You can use the glove with or without the computer. You can use the computer during warm up sessions and then take it off when playing the real game. The computer’s weight is minimal, so having the computer on or off the glove does not affect your shots or distract you from your swing.
Effectiveness of SensoGlove
We gave the SensoGlove to one of our colleagues to test its effectiveness. He is an amateur golfer. His feedback about the golf glove was that it felt like any other normal golf glove on his hand. It only took him a couple of minutes to get used to the SensoGlove. The SensoGlove taught him how to adjust his grip and hold the club properly for a better swing and helped correct his bad gripping habit. The SensoGlove ultimately improved his shots. In his own words, “The SensoGlove can be a good personal golf-trainer for any novice or amateur golfer.”

The SensoGlove feels like any other regular golf glove. It is soft, smooth, and durable. You can expect the glove to last for a considerable time. It can help you improve your shots and reduce bad shots by teaching you how to hold and grip the club so you can start building good grip habits. The SensoGlove is available for $89. HomeGear.com gives it a 4 Lights On rating.
