George Foreman 360 Grill

george foreman 360 grill hands on review

Review of the George Foreman 360 Grill with removable plates

I have been using George Foreman grills for over 5 years. When I heard about the George Foreman 360 Grill with removable plates, I was eager to get one because I have always wished that the plates were removable. I looked forward to seeing what other new features were included in the new design.

Design and Effectiveness

The Grill looked attractive and spacious. I took it to kitchen and the first thing I noticed was the short power cable. I had to put it under the overhead cabinet where my a/c outlet is. I tried to open it, but I could not open it fully because it was too tall. But, I knew the grill's roomy surface would let me grill almost anything and in big amounts (like six skewers of shrimp or chicken kebabs). So, it naturally has to take up a lot of space. Still, they could have provided a longer power cord with the grill.

The George Foreman 360 grill has five removable plates. Two grill plates, two quesadilla plates, and a baking pan. These plates make the grill very versatile, like a grill and oven combined. I started with the regular grill to cook shrimp. It took only 1 minute and 25 seconds. That was quick. The shrimp had grill marks, and they were brown and properly grilled. I ate them and they tasted great.

Cooking Quality

Since then, I have used the grill to prepare lots of different foods like hamburgers, sandwiches, chicken, steaks, pork chops and fish fillets with the grill plates. In most cases, the foods ended up with grill marks, which made them look tasty after being grilled. I liked how the George Foreman 360 Grill got rid of the fat from steaks and cooked them in their own fat. In case of the chicken, the drip tray caught the extra liquid and prevented the 360 from getting messy. I tried making pizzas, quesadillas, tortillas and an omelet with the quesadilla plates. These all generally turned out pretty well. The grill and quesadilla plates were both very easy to use. However, when I used the bake pan to cook frozen food, such as a frozen pizza, it took too long even when temperature was put on high.

Temperature

In some cases, the foods I cooked lacked uniform temperature after cooking. For example, one of the pizzas I made only got browned on one half. However, I found the hinge on the cover to be very effective. It helps you evenly cook thick items like steaks. Nine times out of ten, I found the 360 to have a uniform heat effect on the food it cooked.
